About us
We are a small foster-based rescue, based in Peoria, Illinois, serving primarily Peoria, Tazewell and Woodford Counties. We started in 2016 by mother-daughter duo Malina Grafelman and Megan Reed. Completely volunteer- and donation driven, we rely on the support of our foster families, donors, and volunteers, with help from partners such as veterinary professionals, groomers, trainers, and behaviorists.
We do not have a physical shelter. The animals we take in are housed in foster homes, where they are able to receive personalized care and avoid the stress of being locked up in a cage at a shelter. In a home environment, an animal’s personality can flourish! We try every day to live up to our motto: Home the unwanted. Heal the neglected. Give hope to the mistreated.
